Dr. Weiss was Chief of The Retina Service at the
Kresge Eye Institute at Wayne State University from 1976-85. He has
more than 30 years in evaluating and treating retinal diseases. He is
the author of numerous articles, has lectured widely, and co-authored
the book, The
Carotid
and the Eye.
Born in New York,
Dr. Weiss received his B.A. from Yale University in 1964 and his M.D.
degree, Magna Cum Laude, from the State University of New York, in
1968. Dr. Weiss took his residency in Ophthalmology at the University
of Florida in Gainesville from 1972-75 and was awarded a Heed
Foundation Fellowship Award for additional training in vitreo-retinal
disease and surgery at the Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia.
Dr.
Weiss is a diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and the
National Board of Medical Examiners. He is a fellow of the American
Academy of Ophthalmology, the American College of Surgeons, the
International College of Surgeons, as well as a charter member of the
Macula Society.
Dr. Weiss has staff privileges at Straith
Hospital, William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, and Macomb
Hospital Center in Warren.

Dr. Haimann has over 20 years diagnosing and
treating vitreo- retinal disease. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from the
Northwestern University Medical school in 1977, completed his residency
at the University of Iowa and took his vitreo-retinal fellowship
training at the
Medical College of Wisconsin
Dr. Haimann is a
fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, & the American
College of Surgeons. He is a diplomate of the American Board of
Ophthalmology and a member of the American College of Eye Surgeons.
Dr.
Haimann is the chief of staff at Straith Hospital for special surgery.
He also has consulting privileges at Macomb Hospital Center.

Dr. Miller has over 20 years experience
diagnosing and treating retinal diseases. Dr. Miller graduated from the
University of Michigan with a B.S. degree (Phi Beta Kappa) in 1976 and
an M.D. degree from Wayne State University in 1980. He completed his
ophthalmology residency at the Kresge Eye Institute where he served as
Chief Resident from 1983-1984. He took a fellowship in vitreo-retinal
diseases at the University of Wisconsin in 1985.
Dr. Miller, a
fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, diplomate of the
American Board of Ophthalmology and fellow of the American College of
Surgeons is on the staff at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Straith hospital
for special surgery, Sinai Hospital, Macomb Hospital Center, Providence Hospital and the
Detroit Medical Center hospitals.

Susan M. Malinowski MD F.A.C.S.
Dr. Malinowski has over 10 years of experience
in the evaluation and management of vitreoretinal diseases. Born in
Warsaw, Poland, Dr. Malinowski grew up in the Detroit Area and
completed her undergraduate and medical education in six years in the
University of Michigan combined undergraduate and medical school
program (Inteflex) in 1988. After completing an internship at William
Beaumont Hospital, she took her residency training at the University of
Iowa. Dr. Malinowski completed her fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery
at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee in 1994.
Dr.
Malinowski is dedicated to education and advancements in vitreoretinal
disease. She is the author of numerous articles, has lectured
extensively, and serves as an officer of the Michigan Ophthalmological
Society's statewide program director for continuing medical education.
In addition, Dr. Malinowski is a clinical instructor at Wayne State
University where she also serves on the admissions committee for the
ophthalmology residency program. She scored first in the nation on the
Ophthalmology National Board Examination and serves as an examiner for
the American Board of Ophthalmology. Dr. Malinowski is a fellow of the
American Board of Ophthalmology, the American Academy of Ophthalmology
and a member of the Vitreous Society. She is on staff of the William
Beaumont Hospital, Straith Hospital, St. John Macomb Hospital, and the
Detroit Medical Center Hospitals.
Dr. Malinowski is dedicated
to providing expert and compassionate care to her patients in
partnership with their referring doctors.

Dr. Darrin S. Levin joined Retina
Consultants of Michigan in 2003. Dr. Levin earned his Medical
Degree from Wayne State University and interned at the St. Luke Medical
Center in Milwaukeee. After taking his Ophthalmology residency at
the Medical College of Wisconsin he completed a Retinal/Vitreous
Fellowship at the Doheny Retina Institute at the USC Keck School of
Medicine. Dr. Levin has won numerous awards and honors, has
written numerous articles for publication and has lectured widely in
the latest developments in Retina/Vitreous surgery.
Dr. Levin is on the Staff of Straith Hospital for Special Surgery, St.
John-Macomb Hospital, Providence Hospital and William Beaumont Hospital
- Royal Oak.
